Rakem have been closely involved with BASA over the past few months and will be in the next coming months.
On Monday 7th March the team attended BASA’s 33rd AGM and Industry Lunch at the National Space Centre, Leicester.
As members of BASA we got exclusive use of the facility and two interesting speakers. Geoff Meads was Europe Editor of the press Association and a well-known member of the Brussels press corps. After lunch Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock. Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock is a scientist and broadcaster referred to as the BCC’s ‘face of space’. She is the presenter of the astronomical institution The Sky at Night, has fronted a number of space documentaries and regularly appears on science and non-science programmes.
On Tuesday 14th June the annual Sports Day takes place in Shropshire. The event is a great occasion to network with new and old industry friends and pit our skills against BASA’s sporting Elite. The day is a unique ‘mix and match’ of Golf, Archery, Shooting and Croquet rounded off with dinner and prize giving.
